We meet on a Sunday afternoon once a month for a 4-5 mile walk which usually has very little ascent, with walks including visiting wild flower areas and open gardens, going on public transport and walks of historical and seasonal interest. There are about 12 regular walkers, but numbers depend on the weather and other commitments. We try to make the walks suitable for all ages and abilities. We meet at the bottom of Palatine Avenue to arrange car sharing before setting off at 12.15pm. People without cars are welcome to join as transport is shared.
Children are welcome when accompanied by a responsible adult, but not all our walks are suitable for pushchairs.
As the weather and paths can be very unreliable it is best to come prepared with suitable footwear and waterproofs. We try to eat our packed lunch at a suitable place by 1.00pm and are usually back in Lancaster by 4.30pm.
All the walks are advertised in the weekly Parish News.
If you think that you would like to join us, but would like to know a little bit more about the walks, please contact Maureen Leach on (01524) 61606.
