We are a small group who meet every Wednesday afternoon at 2.00pm from March to November to try and keep the Church gardens under control. Depending on the weather this job is easier said than done.
If anyone could spare a couple of hours each week to give us a hand it would be much appreciated. We meet on dry Wednesdays from 2.00 – 4.30pm in the Church grounds, starting towards the end of March and finishing in November. Tools can be provided. Even weeding can be enjoyable if done with a group of people. It is amazing how much you can get done whilst having a friendly chat at the same time. We always have a break halfway through for tea and biscuits.
If you can’t manage a weekly commitment perhaps you could consider one of the other options listed below:
- Come along when you can.
- Be willing to come along and help at especially busy times or with specific jobs.
- Adopt a plot and come along on a day or time that suits you.
If we don’t have enough volunteers we will have to cut back on the extras which we have been doing at the Parish Hall and in outlying parts of the church garden. It would be a shame if this had to happen as a lot of work has gone into reclaiming some of the overgrown patches of land. If you think you can help in any way please give Maureen Leach a ring on (01524) 61606.
P.S. It’s a lot cheaper than going to the gym.
